Don’t Start With The Homepage

In this video, I offer advice on how to set up a website for artists. Rather than starting with the homepage, I suggest focusing on other pages such as artwork/portfolio, shop, journal/blog, about, and contact. Squarespace is a great platform to use, as it has built-in portfolio/image pages and allows for easy integration with drop-shipping companies like Printful.

When setting up each page of the website, I recommend keeping it simple and straightforward, while optimizing for mobile devices and using free tools like Canva and TinyPNG. The homepage can be a combination of all the other pages, but should be kept simple and regularly updated with new content.

The most important takeaway from this video is that getting a website live and making sales is more crucial than perfecting it. Don't worry about making every detail perfect at first - focus on getting your website up and running and making sales. After that, you can add an email capture and other graphics to enhance your website. Finally, don't forget to explore, imagine, and create art!
